Founded in November 2021 by Vickie Kite Milburn, after retiring from a 25-year career that included publishing Southern Maryland This Is Living and working as a mortgage loan officer, The Blue Shell Gifts & Decor began with a simple invitation from her sister, Jackie Martin, to open a small shop inside the Solomons location of Jacqueline Morgan Day Spa. The name comes from Vickie’s love of blue seashells — softened by saltwater, tumbled by the tides, and made more beautiful with every wave. Their gentle colors and one-of-a-kind patterns feel uplifting and treasured, a little reminder that life’s journey can create unexpected beauty.
